Hella Temple #105 was organized in Columbia, TN. in the early 1920's under the direction of the Imperial Potentate, the Late Caesar R. Blake. Dr. C.O. Hunter served as its first Illustrious Potentate.

In 1927, the Temple moved to Nashville because of the potential membership the large city had via eligible Masons. Ill F. G. Carter, Past  Imperial Deputy of the Desert, served as its first Ill. Potentate in Nashville. He was succeded by the late W. P. Ridley and then by W. A. Graham.

The Masonic recession of the late thirties claimed the existence of Hella Temple, but the interest of many new eligibles, coupled with the internal desire to revive the Temple, led Imperial Deputy F.L. Brewster to reorganize the Temple on April 18, 1945 in the old Masonic Temple on 4th Ave. in Nashville.

Following the reorganization, Kossie L. Gardner was elected Ill. Potentate, J.M. Gilmore the Chief Rabban and L.H. Bradley Assistant Rabban. Noble Edward E. Crawford was elected as Ill. Recorder and W.A. Graham Treasurer.

Hella Temple has been patron of many charitable projects including, but not limited to, the March of Dimes, The United Negro College Fund, numerous TB and cancer drives as well as fundraisers and food drives for the less fortunate. The Nobles most recently worked with the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority in a Youth symposium in an attempt to empower our youth of today to be successful leaders tomorrow.

Hella Temple #105 will continue the high standards set by the old Nobles who founded and reorganized this great Temple.
